Current issues of prevention of excess weight were discussed by teachers and students of medical colleges of the Lipetsk region.
On April 1, 2021, the regional scientific and practical conference "Topical issues of obesity prevention"was held online on the ZOOM platform.
The event was attended by more than 150 people, including teachers and students of the Lipetsk Medical College, the Yelets Medical College and the Usman branch of the Lipetsk Medical College.
The purpose of the conference: exchange of experience and increase of professional knowledge on topical issues of obesity prevention.
Within the framework of the event, the specialists of GUZ "City Polyclinic No. 2", GUZ "Regional Children's Hospital" and teachers of OOAU SPO "Lipetsk Medical College"shared their accumulated experience on this topic.
The head of the Health Center of the Lipetsk city Polyclinic No. 1 spoke about obesity as a risk factor in the development of non-communicable diseases.2-Fadina V. N. The doctor noted that excess weight can become a risk of death not only from heart attack and stroke, but also the development of diabetes, and also introduced the conference participants to the methodology for determining the body mass index and methods of weight loss during physical activity.
Doctor-gastroenterologist of the regional children's hospital-Babenko T. V., spoke about the modern requirements for healthy nutrition and compliance with its principles.
Within the framework of the event, the problems of childhood obesity were also discussed. Namely, an increase in the number of obese adolescents and the importance of preventing overweight in children, since childhood obesity leads to severe complications in the future.

A., the teacher noted that self-control of behavior is important for any lifestyle changes, since without it it is difficult to assess the effectiveness of weight loss methods, make adjustments to the treatment plan and encourage the results achieved.
