SARS and flu: what is the difference?
Influenza is one of the representatives of a group of viruses, and ARVI is a common name for any respiratory viral infection. It is worth noting that most of the acute respiratory viral diseases occur in a fairly mild form, but the flu can lead to serious complications.
With ARVI, the body temperature usually lasts 2-3 days, then returns to normal. Among the signs - a general weakness of the body, but without severe pain in the muscles and joints, as with the flu. Usually, ARVI does not last more than 5 days.
You can get the flu a few hours after infection. Its signs: severe headache, severe weakness, chills, photophobia, fever, body aches, pain in the eyeballs. In just one hour, body temperature it can rise up to 40 degrees. It can last for several days and is difficult to get off. On the second day, it appears dry cough, turning into a wet, with the release of sputum. The flu lasts for more than 10 days.
At the same time, as doctors note, there are also atypical forms of such a disease, when there are no obvious signs, however a person is a danger to others.
It is important to understand that any flu, whether classic or atypical, can be fraught with serious complications: pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, etc. Also, against the background of weakened immunity, bacterial flora can join, and this is already such a dangerous complication, like atypical viral-bacterial pneumonia.
