"STOP HYPERTENSION"! An action dedicated to the World Day of the Fight against Arterial Hypertension was held in Lipetsk

On May 19, 2021, an action was held in the Universal Shopping Center in Lipetsk, organized by the Regional Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention together with the Health Center of the GUZ "Lipetsk City Polyclinic No. 2".

On this day, about 50 people took part in the preventive event.

The main goal is to prevent the development of diseases of the cardiovascular system, as well as to increase public awareness of the signs and the procedure for acting in case of their occurrence.

As part of the "STOP HYPERTENSION" campaign, visitors to the shopping center were able to find out their anthropometric data (height, weight, waist size), calculate body mass index and measure blood pressure. Everyone could be examined with the help of a cardiovisor and receive a screening computer assessment of the state of the heart, as well as a consultation with a general practitioner.

In addition, there was an information platform for all participants of the campaign, where everyone could get printed products for the prevention of socially significant diseases, as well as participate in a quiz on the knowledge of the main risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases.

Cardiovascular diseases play a leading role in the morbidity and mortality of the population. The reasons for their growth vary, but the main risk factors are stress, poor lifestyle, poor ecology, and smoking.
