Winter skin care

09.12.2019

In the cold season, our skin needs more careful care. After all, it is much more sensitive to cold than to heat. For one square centimeter of our skin, there are from 6 to 23 receptors that perceive cold, and there are no more than three heat receptors. Constant exposure to low temperatures, wind, snow and rain lead to aging of the skin.

It is known that in winter the structure of the skin will change, it loses moisture more than when exposed to the sun. So, if it is hot in the room, and it is minus outside, she experiences stress and does not have time to restore the water balance in such conditions. It is proven that in the cold season, the skin loses up to one liter of fluid every day. Free radicals are actively formed in the skin, leading to its aging.

For long walks in the winter season, greasy protective creams are useful. They insulate the skin from the cold, creating a protective film. But these creams are too heavy for warm rooms, so it is contraindicated to use them as a base for makeup.

Basic rules of skin care:

  • Wash your face in cool weather only with cool water, because warm water dries the skin;
  • For washing, you need to use a special moisturizing foam. This will help to maintain the water balance of the skin;
  • Day and greasy creams should be applied under the powder at least 40 minutes before going outside, otherwise the skin can be overcooled;
  • Use a moisturizing foundation and moisturizing liquid powders that give an additional moisturizing effect. ;
  • Give preference to creams that contain vitamins A, C, E, as well as glycerin;
  • If you use loose powder, replace it with pressed powder, because this powder contains more fat, which protects the skin from wind and cold. In addition, this powder falls on the skin more evenly;
  • Use a paste-like blush, and if you have dry or sensitive skin, then buy a blush-cream;
  • Use the scrub twice a week, it tones the skin and removes dead cells, which masks peeling and prevents it;
  • Do not forget to protect your skin from the sun's rays even in winter. To do this, purchase a protective day cream with SPF;
  • Don't go outside without a lipstick.

When purchasing a skin care product, remember that during the cold weather, its condition changes. So, if the skin is usually oily, then in the winter it will become normal, if it is usually normal-it will become dry, dry skin becomes hypersensitive.

Winter is the perfect time to resume the salon treatments that were abandoned during the summer holidays. Chemical peeling is one of the most necessary salon procedures. Facial cleansing is carried out with the help of trichloroacetic acid, retinoic acid or fruit acids. The skin after chemical peeling is significantly smoothed, the face becomes elastic, its color improves, small wrinkles disappear.

You can take a course of lymphatic drainage massage of the face (it will take at least 10 sessions). During the massage, blood circulation is stimulated, the skin actively absorbs nutrients, and is saturated with oxygen.

In the cold period, honey and olive oil will bring invaluable benefits to the skin of the face. You can safely apply these components to the skin of the face both together and separately. Olive oil copes even with severe peeling, when expensive creams help slightly.

Of course, it is difficult to restore the skin only with creams, so homemade face masks in winter are very relevant. But do not forget that the masks should be alternated – once a week to make a moisturizing mask, the second time – a nourishing one.

It is believed that masks made of vegetables and fruits are the most effective. After all, vegetables and fruits are just a storehouse of useful elements.

If you are outside for a long time during the frost period, the skin of the face may become tight, peeling will occur. To improve the condition of the skin, you can make a compress. A towel or napkin should be soaked in hot water or a decoction of chamomile and mint and put it on your face for a few minutes. Do not forget to make a nourishing mask after this procedure. Homemade mask is prepared as follows: egg yolk is mixed with 1 tsp castor oil and the same amount of olive oil, here is squeezed out a capsule of vitamin A. Apply the mask on the face for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with cool water and apply a moisturizer.

If the skin looks better after the moisturizer, no more activities are needed. Home cosmetics can't handle it? Visit the salon, undergo a course of intensive treatment with special drugs for severely chapped and dehydrated skin of the face. Such sessions should be conducted regularly, at least 2-3 times a week.
