Drugs-a step towards HIV infection
The epidemiological situation of HIV infection in the Russian Federation has continued to deteriorate over the past few years. HIV infection has spread beyond vulnerable groups and is actively spreading among the population. As of January 1, 2019, the number of registered cases of HIV infection among citizens of the Russian Federation was 1,326,237 people. At the end of 2018, there were more than 1,007,369 Russians living in the country with a diagnosis of HIV infection, excluding 318,870 deceased patients. For many years, the main route of infection in the Russian Federation was drug use.
The share of people infected with HIV due to drug use in the Russian Federation in 2018 was 39%, in the Lipetsk region this figure is lower than in the Russian Federation and is 35.4%. In 2018, according to the Federal Scientific and Methodological Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS of the Russian Federation, 101,345 new cases of HIV infection were registered, in our region, HIV infection was diagnosed 361 times, i.e. almost daily in the Lipetsk region, one person was diagnosed with HIV. The highest level of infection of the population of the Russian Federation is observed in the age group of 30-44 years, in the Lipetsk region it is the age group of 30-49 years.
According to the GUZ "Lipetsk Regional Narcological Dispensary" in the Lipetsk region, 1394 people are registered with a narcologist with a diagnosis of "drug addiction", one of them is a minor. Every year in the Lipetsk region, a sociological survey is conducted on the problem of drug use. According to the sociological research, the most active consumers are students of primary and secondary vocational education, the age group of 18-29 years. The highest prevalence of consumption is in Lipetsk, Yelets, and Gryazinsky district. Synthetic drugs today still pose a serious threat to the population of the Lipetsk region. Drugs lead to the development of long-term and difficult to treat psychoses, occurring in the type of schizophrenic disorders.
