New opportunities for the treatment of cancer patients in the Lipetsk region.

On December 28, 2020, as part of a press tour, media representatives were introduced to the new high-tech equipment of the Lipetsk Regional Cancer Dispensary.

In order to implement a set of measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of the diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasms, the introduction of highly effective treatment methods, increasing the availability of high-tech treatment methods, the use of telemedicine technologies, the introduction of modern rehabilitation programs and psychosocial support for cancer patients in the Lipetsk region, the regional program "Fight against cancer" was developed and approved. oncological diseases".

The oncology service of the Lipetsk region is represented by the regional specialized institution of the Lipetsk Regional Oncology Dispensary, which includes: 6 surgical departments, 2 departments chemotherapy, radiology department, day hospital.

Four centers of outpatient cancer care (CAOP) are actively working, created in order to reduce the time of diagnosis and improve its quality on the basis of: GUZ "Lipetsk City Hospital No. 3 Svobodny Sokol", GUZ " Yeletskaya city hospital No. 2", GUZ "Yelets City Hospital No. 1 named after N. In continuation of the implementation of the national project in 2020, another 36 units of medical equipment were purchased:

• accelerator complex with a maximum energy of 18-25 MeVs with a multiplifcollimator and change functions modulating the intensity of the radiation beam under visual control, synchronizing the patient's breathing, information and control system with the function of obtaining diagnostic topometry data for remote monitoring radiation therapy, which makes it possible to conduct high-precision and high-dose treatment with control the movement of the tumor directly during treatment.
