The Department of Anesthesiology-Resuscitation is a structural unit of the State Medical Institution "LOPC", whose tasks are to relieve pain associated with surgery, childbirth or manipulation; intensive care for complications of pregnancy and childbirth, decompensated somatic pathology; transfusiological support.

At various times, the department was headed by Gaikovich A. A., Zarubina I. E. and Bessmertny A. E. Since 2018, the service of anesthesiology-resuscitation of the GUZ "LOPTS" is headed by Buganov Alexander Romanovich.

Anesthesiologists-resuscitators have extensive experience in the field of obstetric anesthesiology, possess the necessary modern methods of anesthesia, regularly improve their skills at symposiums and master classes of the Federation of Anesthesiologists-Resuscitators of Russia, the Association of Obstetric Anesthesiologists-Resuscitators, the Committee of European Education in Anesthesiology and other professional organizations.

The department is equipped with modern equipment for safely performing the necessary manipulations, monitoring and maintaining vital functions, and efferent therapy. The methods used in the provision of assistance comply with international requirements for efficiency and safety.

More than one and a half thousand cesarean sections a year are performed under spinal anesthesia. Patients are treated according to the concept of early accelerated rehabilitation, which includes a liberal approach to oral intake of fluids and food, multi-component anesthesia and early activation. The necessary care for women in the intensive care unit is provided by highly qualified secondary and junior medical personnel.

Every year, up to a thousand births through the natural birth canal are carried out accompanied by an anesthesiologist under regional anesthesia. Depending on the obstetric situation, spinal-epidural, epidural or spinal analgesia is performed.

Transfusiological aid is provided in the form of normovolemic hemodilution, reinfusion of red blood cells and autoplasmodonorstvo. In some critical conditions, therapeutic plasmapheresis is performed.

Invasive procedures, such as vascular catheterization, postoperative blockages of the anterior abdominal wall, as well as emergency diagnostics in a critical situation are performed using ultrasound navigation.
