A preventive action "Stroke. Prevent it in time"

On October 27, in the shopping and entertainment center "Europe", as part of the events dedicated to the World Stroke Day, a preventive action "Stroke. Prevent it in time", the main goal of which is to raise public awareness about the signs and risk factors of stroke.

As part of the campaign, the participants of the event were able to undergo a variety of examinations:

• they passed a blood test for total cholesterol and glucose levels;
• passed a heart examination on a cardiovisor;
• the blood pressure level was measured, etc.

After passing all examinations, patients received consultations from a general practitioner.

Also, information and educational platforms worked for all visitors of the shopping center, where everyone took part in master classes on recognizing signs of stroke, measuring blood pressure at home, providing first aid for stroke and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in cardiac arrest.

Residents received consultations on physical activity with demonstration of physical exercises for individual classes, as well as on the prevention of smoking and alcohol consumption. In addition, various printing products were presented at the sites, including the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, stroke and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

A wonderful mood was presented to all participants of the action by the growth dolls "Doctor" and "Zozyk".

The event gathered many people who wanted to be examined and get a specialist's advice. In total, more than 150 visitors of the shopping center took part in the action, of which about 50 citizens underwent a medical examination.

The organizers of the event are the Lipetsk Regional Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention together with the Health Center of the Lipetsk City Polyclinic No. 2, the Regional Medical and Physical Education Dispensary, the Lipetsk Regional Narcological Dispensary, the Center for Postgraduate Education and the Lipetsk Medical College.
