Attention, tuberculosis!

Tuberculosis is a dangerous infectious disease. The causative agent of tuberculosis is mycobacterium, which spreads from person to person mainly through the air: when coughing, sneezing, and most often affects the lungs. To infect a person, it is enough to inhale only a small amount of such bacteria.  Mycobacteria of tuberculosis persist in the external environment: on surrounding objects, in poorly ventilated homes with insufficient lighting, especially in damp rooms, but they easily die under the influence of sunlight. Every sick person who releases mycobacterium tuberculosis and does not receive treatment can infect more than 10 people a year.

In the world, about one third of the population has latent tuberculosis. In Russia, the infection rate is much higher. This means that people are infected with mycobacterium tuberculosis, but (as yet) have not contracted the disease and cannot transmit it. The risk of developing the disease in infected people is 10%.

How to survive the heat for pregnant women?

Now in our region there is an abnormal heat wave. This is a difficult test for many, especially for expectant mothers. In addition to heat and sunstroke, there is another serious danger — hypoxia (a decrease in oxygen in the air). It is fraught with weakening of strength, drowsiness. In pregnant women, these sensations can be especially strong.

Therefore, you need to protect yourself from the heat by all means. Ideally, it is better to do it outside the city, where it is easier to transfer it. If there is no opportunity to go to the cottages and villages, expectant mothers (and not only them) should be especially careful. To survive the summer months with minimal discomfort, pregnant women should follow the following recommendations.

Rule 1. Try not to leave the house during rush hours: from noon to 16-17 pm. At this time, it is especially easy to burn or overheat. Try not to leave the house at the specified time. But if there is no way to stay in the shadows, avoid crowded public transport, if possible, travel by private transport or taxi, walk less.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), which combine two nosological forms – Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), are chronic progressive immuno-mediated diseases of unknown etiology. IBD is one of the most serious and unresolved problems in modern gastroenterology, which is due to the high and constantly growing incidence rate, poorly studied etiopathogenesis, unpredictable clinical outcomes and difficulties in choosing treatment tactics.  According to European publications, the incidence of IBD in Western Europe is twice as high as in Eastern Europe (Crohn's disease: 6.5 cases per 100,000 population compared to 3.3, ulcerative colitis: 9.8 cases per 100,000 population compared to 4.6). However, according to the regional registers of the Russian Federation, the prevalence of IBD is much higher and is 5-12 cases per 100,000 population in regions where there are no IBD centers, and more than 40 cases in regions where an IBD center operates.

HIV infection. You should know that!

HIV infection is a slow viral infection with a long, low-symptom course, characterized by a specific lesion of the immune system and the development of severe immunodeficiency, which is called acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

HIV infection is associated with socially significant diseases: tuberculosis, viral hepatitis B and C. The priority direction of HIV prevention is to inform the population about HIV infection.

The causative agent is human immunodeficiency viruses of the 1st, 2nd types (HIV-1, HIV-2).

HIV has a pronounced variability that makes it difficult to develop a vaccine to prevent the disease.

It's time for natural focal diseases

The main characteristic of natural focal diseases is that their pathogens are transmitted to humans from birds or animals. As a rule, this happens through the bites of blood-sucking insects, such as mosquitoes, ticks. In one natural focus, several pathogens can coexist - bacteria, viruses, helminths, protozoa, etc.

In order to protect yourself from natural focal diseases, many of which pose a serious threat to people's lives, it is important to have information about the ways of transmission of infection and ways to prevent diseases. What is a "natural hearth"? The phrase "natural focus" directly indicates that the source of infection exists in nature. Pathogens of natural focal diseases tend to be transmitted from people to animals, which means that a person who finds himself in such a biogeocenosis can be infected. In this case, pathogens are transmitted in various ways: through insect bites, by inhaling dried excrement of infected animals, etc.
