What to do if there is a COVID-19 patient in your family

If one of your family members has been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection, and the disease is mild, allowing the patient to be treated at home, you should take a number of measures that will reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection for you and other family members.

A person with AIDS-19 should be isolated in a separate room, as well as use individual cutlery and dishes (plates, cups, glasses), an individual toothbrush and towels. It is necessary to enter the patient's room as rarely as possible. 

Provide the patient and yourself with disposable medical masks, be sure to use a mask when you enter the patient's room, change the mask to a new one every 2-3 hours or as you get moistened from breathing.

If there is only one toilet and/or bathroom in the house, treat them with disinfectants every day.

Ventilate the room in which the patient is located 2-3 times a day. 

When coughing or sneezing, the patient should use paper handkerchiefs/towels.

After coughing or sneezing, the patient must wash his hands.  

The linen used by the patient must be placed in a separate basket / bag and washed at a temperature of at least 60 degrees Celsius with a conventional detergent separately from the belongings of other family members. 

The dishes of the sick person must be washed separately, with a sponge specially allocated for these purposes in hot water using a conventional detergent, or in a dishwasher, separately from the dishes used by other family members. 

Household waste from the patient, including used disposable medical masks, should be put in a separate garbage bag in his room, and after filling the tied bag can be disposed of with the rest of the mixed household waste.

Prevention of coronavirus in the team

Employers are encouraged to provide:

Processing the hands of employees at the entrance to the organization or enterprise.

Temperature control at the entrance to the organization and during the day. The temperature must be measured in a non-contact way.

If an employee is found with an elevated body temperature, he is suspended from work and seeks medical help.

Monitoring compliance with self-isolation of employees at home when returning from countries where cases of coronavirus have been reported.

Informing employees about compliance with the rules of personal and public hygiene.

High-quality cleaning of premises using disinfectants. The frequency of surface treatment is every 2 hours.

Regular (every 2 hours) ventilation of the room.

Indoor use of bactericidal lamps for the purpose of air disinfection.

Rules of conduct in public places and at work

Keep a distance of 1.5 meters. The easiest way to identify it is in the supermarket: a trolley for groceries should be freely placed between those standing in line. By the way, it is better to use it rather than a basket, it will help to keep a distance even when you forget about it.

In a crowded place, it is necessary to limit contact with other persons, surfaces and objects as much as possible. The less a person touches handrails, seats, handles, etc., the lower the risk of infection. Do not touch your face in public places.

Disposable napkins should become a must-have item in your purse or pocket. They wipe their hands and cover their mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. After use, these hygiene products are disposed of. But if suddenly there is no napkin, and you urgently need to sneeze – you need to sneeze in the crook of your elbow, and not cover yourself with your palm.

At work, regardless of the general cleaning by technical staff, it is necessary to clean your workplace (keyboard, screen, desk drawer handles, etc.) using disinfectants.
