Watch out, snakes!

In summer, most of the townspeople rush to the forests and cottages. And, in addition to mushrooms and berries, many vipers are found. In hot, dry weather, snakes most often lie in the shade. As a rule, snakes do not attack a person themselves. They bite in self-defense. Viper venom contains substances that affect the blood clotting system. Already in the first minutes after the bite, there is a sharp soreness at the bite site, hyperemia and swelling, which gradually increases. The most dangerous bites are in the neck and head. The victim notes a sharp weakness, dizziness, nausea, possible vomiting and fainting due to a sharp decrease in pressure.

You can prevent an accident by taking precautions:

• Do not walk without shoes and with open feet in places where venomous snakes are supposed to live.
• When walking on tall grass and shrubs, you should push the grass or bushes apart with a stick.
• If you spend the night in the habitats of poisonous snakes, you need to inspect the tent and sleeping bags before going to bed, and check and shake out your clothes in the morning. Remember that snakes are attracted to lit fires.
• If you suddenly notice a snake crawling, freeze and give it the opportunity to leave.
• If the snake has taken a pose of threat, step back slowly. Avoid sudden, frightening snake movements!
• You can not, defensively, put your hands forward, turn your back to the snake. If you have a stick, hold it in front of you in the direction of the snake.

At the first signs of a snake bite, you should immediately seek medical help!
