Watch out, the heat!

22.06.2021

High air temperature has a serious impact on the human body, leads to overloads of all systems and organs, especially the cardiovascular, respiratory and urinary systems suffer. In addition, in conditions of heat, there is a high probability of getting colds, as people, feeling thirsty, try to drink strongly cooled water and artificially create drafts.

To prevent overheating, heat and sunstrokes, exacerbations of chronic diseases, it is recommended:

  • avoid exposure to direct sunlight, it is better to stay in the shade.
  • on hot days, wear light, loose clothing made of natural fabrics, be sure to wear light hats and carry a bottle of water with you.
  • on days with high air temperature (above 28 ° C) do not go outside unless absolutely necessary, especially during the period of maximum solar activity (from 11 to 17 hours).
  • do not stay in drafts and do not use air conditioners for a long time, do not set the temperature below +23-25 ° C in an air-conditioned room. If there is no air conditioning in the apartment or working room, you can cool the air using a container with water that is placed in front of the fan. Water under the influence of the pressure of warm air evaporates, cooling the room by 2-3 degrees.
  • exclude fatty, fried and sweet dishes from your diet. The menu should include light food – vegetables, fruits, boiled or stewed fish, chicken, cold soups and okroshki. Remember the rules of sanitary hygiene – thoroughly wash vegetables and fruits with running water, be sure to cook meat and fish.
  • to protect the body from dehydration, it is necessary to drink more-at least 1.5-3 liters per day, and the main volume (up to two liters of liquid in different forms) is better to use in the morning or evening hours so that the body can stock up on moisture.
  • it is not recommended to drink alcohol (including beer) and carbonated drinks, which not only do not quench thirst, but also slow down the metabolic processes in the body. You should pay attention to the fact that the drinks are at room temperature or cool, but not cold, since the risk of getting sore throats and acute respiratory infections increases in the heat.
  • wash the body with water more often, but only warm water should be used for washing the body.
  • limit the use of nicotine.
  • people suffering from cardiovascular, oncological diseases, respiratory diseases, anyone who has chronic diseases should consult with their doctor on the prevention of exacerbations of these diseases and their complications.
