Enuresis in women. How to solve an intimate problem

Enuresis (urinary incontinence) is a typical pathology for women in labor and mature women, but very young girls also complain of this intimate disease.

Urologists name four main reasons: pregnancy, childbirth, surgery and age-related changes.

Pregnancy. 40% of expectant mothers complain of unpleasant symptoms. The signs of incontinence worsen in the first and last weeks of pregnancy. At this time, the hormonal background changes, and the uterus presses harder on the bladder.
Childbirth. Blame for the damage to the muscles of the pelvic floor. The musculature suffers from incisions or natural tears during childbirth. Until the ligaments are healed, the muscles do not contract at full strength.
Operations on the uterus and bladder. Incontinence occurs after 20% of pelvic surgeries. The muscles can be damaged, and voids form between the internal organs, often the pressure in the abdominal cavity changes.
Advanced age and menopause. With age, muscles weaken without exertion, and a lack of estrogen after 50-60 increases the risk of incontinence.
For the treatment of female enuresis in the initial and middle stages, doctors have not invented fundamentally new methods. The main, like 10-15 years ago, are three methods: lifestyle correction, the establishment of a regime of urination and training of the pelvic muscles.

Watch your weight. The most important thing is that the kilograms do not interfere with your health. Excess weight disturbs the correct positioning of internal organs and increases intra-abdominal pressure. If you lose at least 5-7 kg, even the most serious problems with urination will become easier.
Tea and coffee - in moderation. The urge will be weaker if we stop drinking caffeinated drinks. Herbal infusions, plain and sparkling water with lemon and cinnamon will help you not feel deprived and maintain a healthy fluid balance.
Give up cigarettes. The effect of nicotine itself on incontinence has not been proven. But nicotine bronchitis exacerbates stress urinary incontinence. Think of other ways to relieve stress and watch out for colds, which make bedwetting worse.
Moderate power loads. A sure way to ease your urge to urinate is through moderate exercise. Yoga classes will calm you and teach you to focus, walking in the fresh air will restore healthy breathing.
The main rule is to visit the toilet at certain times. In the first weeks, the intervals between urination should not exceed 40-60 minutes. Then it is permissible to increase or decrease them at your discretion.
Don't be afraid of special Kegel workouts. If you do them daily and in the correct mode, your pelvic muscles will quickly tone up and the body will learn to feel again when it is time to empty the bladder.
