Drug addiction prevention

How often have we heard that drug addiction is incurable, that the effects of drugs on the human body and psyche are horrific. How many films, songs and books have been created about the lives of people broken by drug addiction, and how many programs on television, articles in newspapers and on the Internet devoted to this problem can be found. But not everyone says that drug addiction also carries a huge number of diseases that are transmitted, for example, through the blood, one of which is an incurable virus-HIV.

Let's start with the basics. First, it should be clarified that the effect of all narcotic drugs depends on the amount of the substance used, because in a small amount of drugs are used in medicine as painkillers. But in large doses, they are already used as a sedative. It is important to remember that in any amount of drug use adversely affects the processes of the brain.

Narcotic substances dull mental and physical pain, cause a sense of joy and fun, but at the same time they rapidly destroy brain cells. Many people who tried drugs for the sake of "pampering" were sure that they could quit at any time, but physical addiction did not allow them to do it. Unfortunately, the percentage of drug addicts among children has increased very much recently. Bad company, problems at school and at home, just interest-all this can encourage a child to use drugs.

Drugs and HIV go side by side for many years, almost all drug addicts with experience have an HIV-positive status. Drug use is considered the main factor in the spread of HIV infection. Throughout the history of the spread of the virus in In Russia, in the first place among all the ways of transmission of infection is precisely the needle of a drug addict. The virus enters the narcotic substance through syringes, various dishes and devices for joint intravenous injection.

HIV infection is dangerous because doctors have not yet been able to create a vaccine that can protect or cure this disease. The virus is embedded in the human DNA, constantly changing and destroying the immune system. At the final stage of the development of the disease, the human immune system is weakened so much that secondary infectious and tumor diseases appear in the body.

In addition to HIV infection, the most common disease among drug addicts is hepatitis. This disease can occur both when the virus enters the body, and when exposed to toxic substances. Most often, drug addicts are exposed to the Hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis is an acute or chronic liver disease. In drug addicts, hepatitis is quite severe. Acute forms can flow into chronic and cirrhosis of the liver.

Drug addiction is a disease that requires comprehensive treatment not only for addiction, but also for a number of diseases that are transmitted through the needle. The consequences of using substances can be terrible: depression, overdoses, seizures, blood poisoning, hepatitis and HIV. And even if for a second a person who uses drugs may think that he can always stop it and get rid of addiction, from some diseases that are very easy to get infected during drug use,he will never be able to get rid of it.
