Scientific and practical conference " Reproductive health of the population of the Lipetsk region»

07.04.2018

Improving the reproductive health of the nation is one of the most important tasks of the state in the field of social policy, and therefore, in the concept of long-term socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2020, the issues of protecting the reproductive health of the population occupy a significant place. The preservation and restoration of reproductive health is the most important economic task of national importance, the successful solution of which determines the possibility of reproduction of the species and the preservation of the gene pool.

On March 1, 2018, a scientific and practical conference "Reproductive health of the population of the Lipetsk region"was held in the administration of the Lipetsk region.

This event was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Administration of the Lipetsk region, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor L. I. Letnikova and with the participation of the chief specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on reproductive health, Director of the Research Institute of Urology named after N. A. Lopatkin, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor O. I. Apolikhin.

The event was attended by leading doctors-urologists and obstetricians-gynecologists, heads of medical organizations of the Lipetsk region, as well as students of secondary schools in Lipetsk.

The conference was opened with a report by Professor Oleg Ivanovich Apolikhin "Reproductive health and active social longevity in the demographic perspective of Russia». Oleg Ivanovich noted that the problems of reproductive health of the population, especially adolescents and young people, in modern conditions acquire a special social significance. So, by 2025, the reproductive potential of Russia may be at the "point of no return", from which it will be almost impossible to restore it. Very soon, our country will fully feel the consequences of the huge demographic pit of the 90s. The number of women of childbearing age from 20 to 29 years, who account for 2/3 of the births of children, is expected to decrease by almost 2 times. Even today, the average birth rate in Russia is noticeably lower than what is necessary for the simple maintenance of the population: 1.7 children per woman, with the necessary - 2.1.

That is why the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation pays special attention to the prevention of reproductive health. A preventive approach aimed at reducing health risk factors and early detection of diseases should become the basis for the activities of doctors. It should be based on medical examinations, i.e. preventive identification of men and women who need medical care or have risks of health disorders, including reproductive ones.

An example of this is the "Certificates of Newlyweds". They are issued to people who apply for marriage registration at the Civil Registry Office. With this certificate, they can undergo a free examination of the reproductive system and find out in advance whether they have any risk factors that can lead to infertility or other health problems.

The conference was continued by the Deputy Head of the Administration of the Lipetsk region Lyudmila Letnikova, who made a report "Reproductive health of the population of the Lipetsk region". Lyudmila Ivanovna noted that the issues of preserving and strengthening the reproductive health of citizens are under special control in the region.

Since 2016, the "Reproductive Health" program has been implemented in the Lipetsk region, aimed at preserving the reproductive health of men aged 15 to 40 years. Thus, in order to improve the availability and quality of medical care in the "urology" profile, as well as to ensure continuity in the management of patients at all stages, the "Center for Outpatient Urology"was opened within the three-level healthcare system of the region. It is the base for the examination of "Certificates of Newlyweds" and regularly holds "Men's Health Days", where all interested men of the city are accepted by appointment.

Another type of prevention of reproductive health in the Lipetsk region is preventive examinations of adolescents in grades 10-11 in schools in Lipetsk, aimed at early detection of diseases that lead to infertility. According to the results of 2016-2017, more than 3,400 boys were examined, of which pathology was detected in 7%.

At the end of the conference, leading experts in reproductive health addressed the young people participating in the event and urged them to lead a healthy lifestyle: to give up bad habits (smoking, alcohol abuse), to eat properly, to engage in physical culture, to observe the work and rest regime, to avoid stress. After all, 50% of maintaining your health belongs to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and only 10% can help health care.
