Patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system can receive free medications.

Within the framework of the federal program "Fight against cardiovascular diseases", the health department of the Lipetsk region purchased medicines in the amount of more than 125 thousand rubles.

Patients who have suffered the following acute cardiovascular conditions have the right to drug provision on preferential terms:

• acute violation of cerebral circulation;

• myocardial infarction;

• coronary artery bypass grafting;

• coronary artery angioplasty with stenting;

• catheter ablation.

This group of citizens who do not have a disability group can receive medicines for free in pharmacies of the State Unitary Enterprise "Lipetsk Pharmacy" during the first year after the cardiovascular event.

To receive free medications, the patient must be on dispensary observation at the polyclinic at the place of residence and in the regional register of patients with cardiovascular diseases, as well as present a passport, SNILS, an MHI policy and an extract from the hospital where the patient was treated.

If these conditions are met and the above documents are presented at the polyclinic at the place of residence, a resident of the region can get advice from the attending physician, who will determine the plan of dispensary observation and issue a preferential prescription for the necessary medicines.

Currently, a government program of preferential drug provision with 23 medicines for those who have suffered an acute cardiovascular disease or certain surgical interventions on the heart is operating in all regions of Russia.

"At the moment, there is a set of measures in the region designed to reduce mortality from acute cardiovascular diseases. This applies not only to preventive measures: promoting a healthy lifestyle and regular diagnostics, but also to helping people who have already suffered cardiovascular events, " said Alexander Ivanovich Ilyin, Deputy head of the Lipetsk Region administration.
